Psychology Department Toilets

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

In a great meeting today, we found that the Durham University Psychology Department has converted two of its gendered toilets into gender non-specific toilets, in a drive to be more inclusive of all students of all gender identities.

We would like to say a particularly huge thank you to Ali Cacace who is on a departmental team to increase equality for helping get this in place, and for inviting the LGBT+ Association to a staff training session at the end of April. We will be discussing ways in which the department can become more inclusive, and more welcoming to LGBT+ students, as well as chatting about some LGBT+ terminology and trans-inclusive linguistics for use in an academic setting!

If you are interested in the LGBT+a coming into your department, feel free to email the head of department with the suggestion and our email address: association@durhamlgbta.org.uk.
